Alejandro Escovedo's family tree includes former Santana percussionist Pete Escovedo and Pete's female child Sheila E (as well Prince's previous drummer and afterwards a come out star). He began his music calling with the Nuns, a mid-'70s punk rock band based in San Francisco. He co-founded the pioneering cowpunk ring Rank and Charge in 1979, which affected to Capital of Texas, TX, in 1981 after a genus Erolia minutilla in Fresh York City.
